Åelva is a charming river with the chance to sight fish in many pools, it hosts a strong run of salmon and sea trout with the chance to catch salmon in the 40lb+ class and large sea trout. Åelva and Horstad Lodge is now one of the very best rivers and beats in the country when it comes to catches per angler. 2020 gave 436 salmon by 46 anglers. You wont find many better rivers for fly fishing after salmon.

June is highly regarded as the prime weeks on the Åelva, with fresh salmon and sea trout arriving on each tide. However, even july and august is regarded as potentially fantastic months of fly fishing for salmon and sea trout. The river is full of salmon and seatrout and will likely give you some memorable moments for the books. 

The Lodge is situated just a 5 minute walk from the river and the lower beats are accessed by foot. The wild river, spectacular scenery and luxury traditional lodge provides a fantastic fishing experience.
